Questions we get asked before every move.
If yours is not here, call or write in. We answer enquiries the same working day.
Quotes and booking
How do you work out the price?
On the load size and the access. Load size is what fills the lorry, not the number of rooms you have. Access is the floor, the lift, the stairs and the carry distance at both ends. Add-ons like packing, disposal or storage are quoted as their own lines so you can see what each part costs.
Do I need a site survey?
Not for most homes. A phone call and a few photos are usually enough. Offices, storage jobs and specialist pieces are surveyed in person, at no charge, because guessing at those is how quotes go wrong.
How far in advance should I book?
Two to three weeks for a weekday move, and longer for the end of the month or a weekend, which are the busiest slots in Singapore. If your date is already fixed, tell us early and we will hold it while the quote is finalised.
Do you take a deposit?
Yes. A 30% deposit confirms the date, and the balance is due on completion. Until the deposit is paid the slot stays open to other bookings.
How long is a quote valid?
Fourteen days. After that we re-check availability and crew rates for your date, though the price rarely changes for a straightforward move.
On the day
What time does the crew arrive?
Most home moves start between 9am and 10am, which leaves enough daylight for the unload. Office moves usually start after hours. You get a named lead and a phone number the day before, not a four hour window.
Do you dismantle and reassemble furniture?
Yes. Beds, wardrobes and dining tables are taken apart at the old place and rebuilt at the new one as part of the move. Fixed installations such as built-in carpentry, air conditioning and wall-mounted televisions are a separate job and need a contractor.
What happens if something is damaged?
Tell the crew lead before they leave the site and it goes on the completion record with photos. We repair, replace or credit depending on the item. Anything you packed yourself is harder to cover, which is why fragile items are better left to the crew.
Do you move on weekends and public holidays?
Yes, and both carry a surcharge because the crew is paid one. If your date is flexible, a weekday morning is the cheapest time to move.
Storage and specialist items
How is storage charged?
By the cubic metre you actually use, measured on collection, with a monthly minimum. Storage is air conditioned. Collection and redelivery are quoted as separate jobs so you are never paying for a trip you have not booked.
Can you move a piano, a safe, or a marble table?
Yes, and these are the jobs we are set up for. Uprights go on a skate board and a powered stair climber, grands are legged down and boarded, and safes are weighed and checked against the floor loading before anything is lifted. If it will not fit a lift, we look at a stair carry or a window hoist and arrange the building permission first.
Is there anything you will not move?
Hazardous goods, gas cylinders, paint and other flammables, perishable food, live plants and animals, and anything illegal. Cash, jewellery and documents should travel with you rather than in the lorry.
Ask us about your move.
Twenty minutes on the phone, or a survey at no charge. You keep the inventory and the quote either way.
